Job summary

RELX's engineering team seeks a Lead .NET Developer to design, develop, and modernize scalable backend systems while guiding technical delivery across projects. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex business and technical challenges, and collaborating with cross-functional teams on modern cloud-native technologies.

Qualifications

• Significant professional experience developing backend applications with .NET Core / .NET 6+.
• Experience building and supporting microservices-based solutions, ideally using Dapr.
• Strong knowledge of messaging and event-driven systems (RabbitMQ, Kafka, Azure Service Bus).
• Hands-on experience with MySQL, including design, query optimization, stored procedures.
• Experience maintaining, integrating, or modernizing legacy .NET applications.
• Ability to lead technical initiatives from requirements gathering through deployment and support.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes for containerized apps.
• Understanding of design patterns, CQRS, DDD, and event-driven architectures; Agile/Scrum; Git/Jira/CI/CD pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services using .NET Core / .NET 6+.
• Build and enhance distributed, event-driven architectures using Dapr.
• Develop integrations using messaging platforms (RabbitMQ, Kafka, Azure Service Bus).
• Design, optimize, and maintain MySQL databases and queries.
• Refactor and modernize legacy applications while preserving business continuity.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate needs into technical solutions.
• Participate in architecture reviews and code quality initiatives.
• Advocate for software quality, security, observability, and DevOps.
