Job summary

TipTopJob is seeking a Principal Modelling and Simulation Engineer to lead modelling activities and deliver robust system and vehicle-level models with clear verification strategies. The role blends hands-on technical delivery with visible leadership across complex projects.

Based in the United Kingdom, you will shape approaches, mentor colleagues, and present results to internal and external stakeholders, driving progress across demanding programmes.

Qualifications

• Experience with Matlab/Simulink-based modelling of dynamic systems.
• Knowledge of Kalman filtering and state estimation.
• Exposure to real-time modelling and code generation using Matlab and C/C++ where relevant.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of system and vehicle-level models, including plant and control algorithms.
• Define modelling approaches, requirements, and verification strategies.
• Own end-to-end delivery of technical activities and work packages.
• Present results clearly to internal and external stakeholders.
• Mentor junior engineers and bring structure to complex problems.
• Contribute to planning and delivery prioritisation.
