Job summary

Bumble Inc. is seeking a senior ML/AI leader to define and drive the technical strategy for AI and ML systems powering recommendations, ranking, and personalization across Bumble products, delivering measurable improvements in engagement and safety.

You will design, develop, and deploy production-grade models using PyTorch in high-traffic environments, build production AI agents with LLMs, architect end-to-end ML pipelines (Spark, Airflow), and mentor senior ICs while promoting responsible AI

Qualifications

• Typically requires extensive leadership experience in ML/AI for large-scale production systems.
• Hands-on experience building and deploying models in production environments.
• Strong Python programming skills and familiarity with major ML frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow).
• Expertise in prompting and fine-tuning LLMs and building production AI Agents.
• Experience designing scalable data and ML pipelines with Spark, Airflow or similar tools.
• Proven ability to influence technical strategy and mentor senior contributors.

Responsibilities

• Define and lead the technical strategy for AI/ML systems powering recommendations, ranking, and personalization across Bumble products.
• Design, develop, and deploy production-grade models using PyTorch for high-traffic environments.
• Build and deploy production AI Agents using LLMs and sub-agents, tools, and MCP integrations.
• Architect end-to-end ML pipelines integrating data processing (Spark, Airflow) with training, evaluation, and deployment workflows.
• Drive experimentation frameworks including A/B testing and offline evaluation to improve model performance.
• Partner across Product, Engineering, and Data leadership to translate business challenges into ML solutions.
• Mentor and elevate senior ICs, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous learning.
• Take ownership of complex problem spaces from insight to impact with an agile mindset.
• Champion responsible AI practices to embed fairness, transparency, and user safety.
