Job summary

HS2 Ltd. is seeking an experienced General Foreperson/Site Supervisor to lead daily MEP construction activities in the Midlands, based in Birmingham.

You will supervise subcontractors and internal teams, ensuring delivery to specifications, safety standards and programme milestones on a major rail infrastructure project. The role requires a proven track record in large-scale construction, strong leadership, and the ability to read drawings and manage multidisciplinary interfaces.

Qualifications

• Experience as General Foreperson, Senior Foreperson or Site Supervisor delivering MEP works on large-scale construction projects.
• Strong understanding of Mechanical, Electrical and Public Health systems installation and construction methodologies.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications and work packages.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate daily MEP construction activities across designated project areas.
• Supervise site supervisors, forepersons, operatives and subcontractors, ensuring safe and productive working practices.
• Ensure all MEP works are delivered in accordance with project specifications, drawings, quality standards and programme requirements.
• Maintain the highest standards of Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality (HSEQ) compliance across all activities.
• Plan and coordinate labour, plant, materials and temporary works requirements.
• Conduct daily briefings, toolbox talks, inspections and safety tours.
• Monitor progress against programme milestones and implement corrective actions where required.
• Coordinate interfaces between MEP, civil, structural, architectural and rail systems teams.
• Review permits, method statements, risk assessments and work package plans before work commences.
• Support testing, commissioning and handover activities to achieve project completion objectives.
• Identify and elevate risks, constraints and opportunities for improvement.
• Maintain accurate site records, progress reports and quality documentation.
