Job summary

Build Recruitment is partnering with a leading engineering and building services contractor to recruit a Senior Project Engineer Mechanical for their South Region operations. The role focuses on technical ownership of mechanical works across complex construction projects, leading design, procurement, installation, testing and handover.

You will mentor junior engineers and collaborate with project managers, consultants and subcontractors to deliver safe, compliant outcomes.

Qualifications

• Essentially requires HNC/HND in mechanical or building services engineering.
• Experience with building services/mechanical installation on complex construction projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate mechanical design information and ensure compliance with specifications.
• Manage mechanical procurement packages including supplier selection and submittals.
• Review and approve mechanical shop drawings, material submittals and method statements.
• Plan and coordinate mechanical engineering and installation activities across multiple fronts.
• Provide technical leadership and ensure on-site safety and QA/QC.
• Own mechanical material take-offs and procurement schedules.
• Lead BIM coordination including clash detection and resolution.
• Ensure as-built information and project records are maintained.
• Support variations from a technical/commercial standpoint.
