Lead Mechanical Engineer - Water (@one Alliance)

The Vacancy

Binnies, an RSK Group Company, is seeking a Lead Mechanical Engineer (Water) to join our team as part of the @one Alliance.

Responsibilities include:

• Providing technical direction to the mechanical engineering team, focusing on water or water recycling non-infrastructure projects.
• Ensuring designs comply with legislation and standards while optimizing for efficiency and sustainability.
• Collaborating with stakeholders to deliver projects on time, within budget, and to quality standards.
• Championing innovative approaches and digital technologies to improve project outcomes.
• Mentoring junior engineers and fostering their development.

Role Accountabilities:

Engineering Leadership:

• Reporting to the Principal Engineer and working closely with project stakeholders.
• Reviewing design deliverables for quality, safety, and compliance.
• Contributing to construction design management and commissioning strategies.
• Driving sustainability initiatives and exploring modular construction solutions.

Health & Safety:

• Ensuring designs adhere to statutory and industry standards, including health and safety regulations.
• Offering solutions to enhance safety and minimize costs over the project's lifecycle.

Transformation:

• Embracing digital technologies to enhance project efficiency.
• Supporting efforts to reduce carbon footprint and promote sustainable practices.

Delivery:

• Guiding project design to be affordable, timely, sustainable, and compliant with Anglian Water’s obligations.

Skills, Experience, and Behaviours:

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
• Proven experience in mechanical engineering, preferably within the water sector.
• Strong leadership and mentoring skills.
• In-depth knowledge of industry standards and regulations.
• Proficiency in CAD and engineering tools.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Decisive, with sound judgment and integrity.
