Job summary

Thales Group seeks a Mechanical Engineering Lead for the Under Water Systems (UWS) project. You will provide direction to the mechanical team, increase capability, and support the Project Design Authority and Product Line Authority in technical matters.

You will mentor others, coordinate trade-offs among cost, requirements, and technology, and ensure alignment between product and mechanical architectures within the UWS portfolio. Security clearance may apply.

Qualifications

• L6 qualification (degree or equivalent) in engineering or science.
• Chartered Engineer is desirable.
• Experience in mechanical design for subsea/defense environments is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead and direct the mechanical team for the UWS project.
• Support PDA and PLA in technical capacity, addressing build issues/improvements.
• Lead problem resolution with industry teams.
• Develop mechanical elements and drive future product capability.
• Coordinate product definition and assess trade-offs between cost, customer requirements and technology.
