Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a self-motivated mechanical engineer to join our multi-disciplinary team in Glasgow. You will lead Mech/HVAC design activities on state-of-the-art facilities, coordinating with electrical, structural and process teams to develop 2D/3D designs and deliver construction documents.

With 5+ years in Mech/HVAC and a bachelor’s in building services or mechanical engineering, you will participate in design reviews, field observations, and supplier evaluations while mentoring junior

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of engineering/design experience in Mech/HVAC systems.
• Semiconductor experience preferable for large scale industrial projects.
• Excellent English—written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Organize, assign, and delegate engineering tasks to produce design documents with a team.
• Manage scope, budget and schedule to meet project goals.
• Coordinate with electrical, structural, architectural and process disciplines.
• Independently lead plant design activities as an area/system lead.
• Perform Mech/HVAC design work in 2D/3D design systems and review deliverables.
• Participate in design reviews, risk assessments and vendor evaluations.
• Assist in proposals, scopes, schedules and budgets for projects.
• Perform field activities such as observing construction and submittal reviews.
