Job summary

BGEN Ltd is looking for a Chartered engineer or someone working towards chartership to lead mechanical piping and process design across multiple industries. The role requires delivering from concept to detailed design, using AutoCAD/Plant3D, and ensuring compliance with relevant codes and PED regulations.

You will mentor colleagues, manage design subcontracts, and contribute to bids and project delivery while pushing for sustainable, low-carbon design practices.

Qualifications

• Chartered engineer or working towards chartership.
• Degree in technical engineering related subject.
• Strong understanding of design process & associated documentation.
• Significant experience with standard pipework design codes (ASME B31.1, B31.3, BS EN 13480) and stress calculations.
• Experience applying Pressure Equipment Regulations (PED).
• Strong experience using CAD tools (AutoCAD, Plant3D).

Responsibilities

• Lead audits, surveys and feasibility studies to develop mechanical piping and process solutions.
• Deliver concept through detailed design packages ensuring compliance with codes and regs.
• Identify, communicate and manage project risks while promoting sustainable, low-carbon design.
• Support bids and tender reviews, manage design subcontracts, oversee project delivery to quality, cost and programme targets.
• Mentor team members and drive continuous improvement; fulfil Designer or Principal Designer duties under CDM 2015.
