Job summary

Cordon Technologies is seeking a Principal Mechanical Engineer in Maidenhead, UK. You will own the mechanical design of the Loop and future products, taking them from early builds through full-scale production, reporting to the CTO.

You’ll spend time in CAD/workshop, visit farms, and manage engineers while shaping how the team grows and collaborates with manufacturing partners as production scales up.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in mechanical or product engineering.
• Experience taking products from concept to manufacture at scale.
• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Strong CAD skills with Onshape or SolidWorks.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Line manage and mentor engineers as the team grows.
• Act as technical authority for mechanical design, including design reviews and standards.
• Own CAD and manufacturing documentation for the product.
• Lead full lifecycle product development from spec to manufacture.
• Drive production readiness with DFM/DFA and scaling from small batch to full production.
• Collaborate with electronics, software and commercial teams on integrated systems.
• Run tests in workshop and on farms to guide design decisions.
