Job summary

DayOne is seeking a Data Center Mechanical Design Manager to lead the mechanical design of mission-critical data center projects across Europe. You will oversee HVAC, plumbing, drainage, and related systems, ensuring reliability, energy efficiency, and seamless integration with the broader data center infrastructure.

Qualifications

• 8–10 years of mechanical/HVAC design experience in data centers
• Experience with hyperscale or co-location environments
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, cooling, energy efficiency and PUE
• Professional Engineer or Chartered Engineer preferred

Responsibilities

• Lead the mechanical design for data center projects (HVAC, plumbing, drainage)
• Oversee cooling architecture, redundancy, airflow management, and energy efficiency
• Coordinate interfaces with electrical, architectural, civil, structural, and operations teams
• Review drawings, calculations, equipment schedules, and design documents for quality
• Ensure designs comply with DayOne standards, regulations, and sustainability targets
• Review equipment, materials, and technologies for reliability and lifecycle performance
• Identify risks, resolve design issues, and support constructability, commissioning, and handover
