Job summary

Interaction Technical is recruiting a Project Engineer - Mechanical Design for a market-leading waste equipment manufacturer in Desborough, Northamptonshire. You will create detailed 3D and 2D drawings and specifications for new projects, using SolidWorks and AutoCAD to meet requirements and budgets.

You will lead projects, mentor colleagues, review existing designs on-site, and ensure cost-effective solutions while complying with Health & Safety standards.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a project engineer within the structural steel industry or similar industries (essential).
• Proven ability to read and create technical drawings and specifications (essential).
• Knowledge of the SolidWorks and/or AutoCAD CAD packages to produce detailed engineering drawing and specifications (advantageous).
• Previous experience working in and around sheet metal and fabrication (advantageous).
• Relevant qualifications within design engineering (advantageous).
• Team player

Responsibilities

• Produce detailed 3D and 2D drawings and specifications using SolidWorks and AutoCAD for brand new projects.
• Liaise with sales and projects departments to ensure projects stay within budget and are cost-effective.
• Review and improve existing designs; visit customer sites to verify implementation and performance.
• Lead projects, provide engineering support to departments, and mentor staff.
• Carry out cost analysis to ensure projects are cost-effective.
• Produce documentation and follow health & safety procedures.
