Job summary

Sky is seeking a senior mechanical engineering leader to drive the end-to-end development of next-generation consumer hardware, from concept to mass production, across Entertainment, Connectivity and Smart Home lines.

You will define mechanical requirements to balance performance, cost, quality and manufacturability, and refine architectures to optimise quality and high-volume readiness. The role is based in Osterley with hybrid working.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Experience delivering mechanical design for high-volume consumer electronics.
• Ability to lead across engineering, ID and manufacturing teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end mechanical engineering delivery of next-generation consumer hardware products, from concept through to mass production.
• Define mechanical requirements aligned to performance, cost, quality, reliability and manufacturability objectives.
• Develop and refine mechanical architectures, design processes and engineering standards for high-volume manufacturing readiness.
• Act as the mechanical engineering lead within cross-functional teams, mentoring junior engineers and aligning Engineering, ID and Manufacturing.
• Coordinate with JDMs, suppliers and manufacturing partners to translate requirements into robust solutions while maintaining timelines.
• Lead DFM, DFA, DFR activities, stage-gate reviews and risk management to mitigate design and manufacturing risks.
• Oversee validation activities including DFMEA, tolerance analysis and design verification testing.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory, safety and internal quality standards.
