Job summary

CBRE is seeking an Associate Mechanical Building Services Engineer to join our Engineering Consultancy team. The role focuses on delivering M&E design, technical due diligence, life-cycle costing and audits for commercial projects across the UK, including Leeds, Liverpool and Manchester.

You will work client‑facing, manage design teams and contribute to business growth. The successful candidate will have strong communication skills, be able to travel regionally, and hold a relevant

Qualifications

• Strong analytical, numerical and problem-solving skills.
• A team player with strong communication abilities.
• Willing to travel within the Northern region and beyond as needed.
• Able to work collaboratively across disciplines.
• Confident to meet, network and socialise with clients and prospects.
• Experience of surveying is beneficial.
• Qualified to at least HNC/HND level; a relevant degree or Chartered status is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design for Building Services projects.
• Take ownership of design and technical decisions.
• Collaborate with design teams and act as MEP lead when required.
• Assist with development of junior engineers.
• Deliver and audit calculations, models and drawings using industry software.
• Provide QA of designs and reports; conduct feasibility studies and project management for refurbishments and new works.
• Perform regular client site visits and support business growth.
