Job summary

Jaguar TCS Racing is seeking a No 1 Mechanic to manage test car and rig build activities, ensuring drawings and build bulletins are followed and that spares are defined and available. You will lead the test mechanics group at all test events and ensure safe operation trackside and in the factory.

With a background as No 1 Mechanic at a world-stage team, you will coordinate with parts and design teams, maintain equipment readiness, and drive improvements across the department while upholding high

Qualifications

• Experience as No 1 Mechanic at a world-stage race/rally team.
• Experience managing varying workloads.
• Full UK Driving Licence.

Responsibilities

• Lead test team and manage all test car & rig build activities with adherence to drawings and build specs.
• Provide trackside vehicle build and lead test mechanics group for all test events.
• Enforce health and safety policy trackside and at the factory.
• Coordinate with Parts Co-ordinator to capture lifing data after tests.
• Ensure test hardware, equipment and spares are available and spec-compliant.
• Record faults to design/engineering teams for improvements.
• Set up and pack down garage/track environments as required.
• Assist in packing air freight/trucks when needed.
• Promote workshop best practices and mentor junior/senior staff.
• Identify department improvements and personnel performance opportunities.
• Maintain good relationships with other departments and company personnel.
• Maintain professional presentation of staff and department.
• Work proactively and take initiative; support others to complete tasks.
• Complete tasks within agreed time frames.
• Occasionally work outside of normal hours.
• Follow and enforce health & safety policy.
