Job summary

Jaguar TCS Racing is seeking a No 2 Mechanic to manage test car builds and lead a trackside mechanics group during test events. You will work from the factory when not on events, assembling and maintaining cars to approved specifications and documenting builds.

You will attend tests and races, escalate issues to the Chief Mechanic or Design, and suggest improvements to components and processes while ensuring safety policy adherence.

Qualifications

• Experience as a mechanic for a race/rally team.
• Experience managing varying workloads.
• Familiar with HV vehicle operating protocols is an advantage.
• Confident with Microsoft Office suite (Excel/OneNote/Word).
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, disassemble, and maintain cars and components per drawings and bulletins.
• Attend test, rig, PR or race events; based at the factory when not on event.
• Ensure builds meet engineering specs; complete build checklists.
• Escalate faults to Chief Mechanic or Design.
• Identify improvements to components and equipment daily.
• Operate tools and pit equipment as required.
• Set up and take down garage/track environments as needed.
• Maintain tidy workshop and protect components when not in use.
• Record performance measures to identify downtime causes.
• Maintain good relations with other factory departments.
• Work on own initiative and support others to complete tasks.
• Complete tasks within agreed time frames; may include weekends/bank holidays.
• Follow and enforce Health and Safety policy.
