Job summary

Pleckgate High School seeks to appoint a Lead Teacher of Mathematics on a full-time permanent contract to start January 2027. The role involves modelling outstanding teaching, raising maths attainment and leading CPD across the school, including whole-school numeracy strategies.

The successful candidate will contribute to data analysis, track progress, and collaborate with Learning Support and pastoral teams to ensure pupils make good progress.

Qualifications

• Hold QTS (or equivalent) and a relevant undergraduate degree.
• Evidence of ongoing professional development.
• Evidence of outstanding GCSE mathematics results.

Responsibilities

• Model high-quality teaching and provide exemplars for others.
• Raise standards in pupil attainment in mathematics.
• Develop teaching strategies to support individual learners.
• Lead whole-school and mathematics CPD within the Teaching and Learning team.
• Lead the numeracy strategy with Heads of Department.
• Analyse data to identify trends and set targets for numeracy improvement.
• Oversee numeracy interventions with learning support and pastoral teams.
