Job summary

Qualifications

  • A1: SCQF level 10 honours degree in a relevant subject or equivalent experience.
  • A2: Understanding of research design and marine animal pathology knowledge.
  • A3: Genuine interest in marine mammal strandings and field work.
  • A4: Knowledge of GDPR and data protection requirements.
  • A5: Postgraduate qualification or equivalent experience for Grade 7.
  • A6: Advanced knowledge of marine mammal pathology, strandings or related field.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and develop the SMASS database and necropsy portal.
  • Develop data attributes and metrics for reporting.
  • Perform statistical, temporal and spatial analysis of strandings data.
  • Produce data visualisations and outputs for reports.
  • Collaborate with IWC/ASCOBANS and European partners on harmonisation.
