Job summary

HydraForce, based in Birmingham, UK, seeks a capable engineer to lead technical support to Production and Logistics, driving improvements to meet quality, cost and efficiency targets. You will mentor Manufacturing Engineers, Junior Engineers and Technicians, and develop essential process controls and procedures.

You will manage projects, analyze processes, and implement cost-reduction initiatives while collaborating with multiple sites to share best practices.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree or equivalent in mechanical/manufacturing engineering
• Engineering Apprenticeship completed preferred
• Experience in fast-paced manufacturing environment
• CAD proficiency (Creo/AutoCAD) advantageous
• Lean principles experience including Kaizen, 5S and Kanban

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support and leadership to Production and Logistics to identify operations and improvements for quality, cost and efficiency
• Set goals and standards; guide Manufacturing Engineers, Junior Engineers and Technicians
• Develop, monitor and report Key Performance Metrics
• Create and maintain departmental procedures; train personnel and maintain records
• Lead cost reduction and process efficiency improvement activities and document savings and proposals
• Support prototype builds and NPIs; ensure requirements are met within timescales
• Use statistical tools to validate new processes or changes; liaise with internal departments to obtain best value
