Job summary

Bosch Rexroth in Birmingham seeks an experienced manufacturing engineer to lead technical support for Production and Logistics, driving improvements to meet quality, cost and efficiency targets. You will mentor engineers and technicians, develop KPIs, and ensure procedures are followed to achieve factory objectives.

The role involves cross-site collaboration, implementing lean manufacturing methods and supporting NPI activities to optimize production processes.

Qualifications

HNC/HND or Degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering.
Successful completion of engineering Apprenticeship preferred.
Proven experience of working in a fast paced, manufacturing environment.
Experienced in managing projects, delivering on time and within budget.
Working knowledge of CAD systems – Creo & Autocad advantageous.
Thorough understanding and experience in application of lean principles, including Kaizen, 5s and Kanban.

Responsibilities

Provide technical support and leadership to the Production and Logistics Departments by identifying operations and improvements required to produce products and developing processes to meet quality, cost and efficiency targets.
Guide, mentor and develop Manufacturing Engineers, Junior Engineers and Technicians to achieve goals.
Develop, monitor and report Key Performance Metrics; create and maintain departmental procedures and training records.
Lead cost reduction and process efficiency initiatives; document savings and proposed efficiencies.
Support prototype builds ensuring adherence to timelines and requirements.
Conduct NPI activities and apply statistical tools to validate processes or equipment.
