Job summary

Omega is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer (Composites) in Gloucestershire to advance aerospace composite components. You will lead manufacturing engineering activities, develop routings and BoMs, and ensure robust quality controls.

Key skills include experience with composite materials (carbon fiber preferred), CAD proficiency (SolidWorks), and a strong Lean Manufacturing mindset to drive process improvements and cost efficiencies in a high-precision environment.

Qualifications

• Experience of Composite manufacture and processing.
• Strong understanding of composite materials - particularly carbon fiber
• Understanding quality control within aerospace.
• Proficiency in CAD (Solidworks preferable)
• Analytical thinking, problem-solving, and creativity.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Support product design for manufacture as required.
• Create Routings and BoM's.
• Develop Process Sheets as required for Standard Procedures.
• Develop and implement quality control procedures and have an Inspection plan is in place.
• Working with the Tooling Design team create the Tooling Concepts / Requirements.
• Develop PFMEAs to identify and mitigate risks.
• Review production data and recommend improvements in quality control and efficiency
• Support procurement with technical guidance.
• Support BD with quotations (methodology and costings).
