Job summary

ibse in the United Kingdom is seeking an experienced Associate Mechanical Building Services Engineer to lead mechanical design across a portfolio of commercial, residential, hospitality, and energy efficiency projects. You will mentor engineers, interface with clients, and ensure delivery with low-carbon design principles and BIM-enabled workflows.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar discipline.
• Chartered Engineer status or equivalent.
• Extensive building services design experience across multiple sectors.
• Proven leadership of multidisciplinary teams and client relationships.
• Strong knowledge of UK regulations and energy-efficient design principles.
• Excellent communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design from concept to project completion on complex schemes.
• Interface with clients to translate business needs into engineering solutions.
• Support project inception activities including briefs, workshops, and design reviews.
• Embed low-carbon design principles across delivery stages.
• Provide technical direction and mentoring to engineers and technicians.
• Manage project deliverables to meet programme, budget, and quality expectations.
• Promote use of digital design tools and BIM workflows.
• Contribute to process and standards improvements across the business.
• Collaborate with regional teams to support growth.
