Job summary

ibse is recruiting a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead the design and delivery of mechanical building services across multiple UK projects. The role involves working within a multidisciplinary team, managing client relationships and guiding project stages from feasibility to commissioning.

You will design HVAC, ventilation, heating, cooling and domestic water systems, supervise site surveys, and contribute to feasibility studies while mentoring junior engineers and supporting proposals.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified in Mechanical Building Services Engineering or related discipline.
• Proven experience within a Building Services Consultancy environment.
• Excellent communication and report-writing abilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and delivery of mechanical building services projects.
• Prepare mechanical designs, calculations, specifications and technical reports.
• Undertake site surveys, condition surveys and technical inspections.
• Design HVAC, ventilation, heating, cooling and domestic water systems.
• Attend and lead client, contractor and design team meetings.
• Manage project programmes, budgets and technical deliverables.
• Mentor and support graduate, trainee and junior engineers.
• Promote sustainable and energy-efficient design solutions.
• Contribute to feasibility studies and due diligence reports.
• Support commissioning activities, snagging inspections and defect reporting.
