Job summary

The estate near Masham, North Yorkshire, is seeking an experienced Head Stockperson / Livestock Manager to lead its organic and regenerative suckler beef enterprise across 580 acres with a further 105 acres of grazing. You will take responsibility for the herd, health, breeding, grazing and day-to-day farm operations.

You will work closely with the Owner and Estate Manager, contributing ideas to develop the enterprise, maintaining records and budgets, and leading a small team.

Qualifications

• Experience with suckler herds and calving.
• Knowledge of organic and regenerative farming.
• Ability to work independently and lead.
• Willingness to contribute ideas to the enterprise.

Responsibilities

• Manage and develop the suckler herd.
• Oversee livestock health, welfare and breeding.
• Grazing, grassland and forage management.
• Day-to-day farm operations and contractors.
• Fencing, field maintenance and general upkeep.
• Machinery, vehicle and equipment maintenance.
• Maintain organic and Pasture for Life records.
• Support environmental schemes and projects.
• Help shape future development of the farm.
