Job summary

Kudos AV Ltd. in the United Kingdom is seeking a CAD Technician to own the drawing set for events and exhibitions, from concept through to the version the crew works to.

You will model in 3D, produce visuals for client sign-off, run venue surveys, and coordinate rigging points, loads, and safety documentation with the team.

The role requires fluent Vectorworks (Spotlight, Braceworks, ConnectCAD), strong 2D drafting and 3D modelling, and a track record of live-event drafting.

Qualifications

• Fluent with Vectorworks and events modules (Spotlight, Braceworks, ConnectCAD).
• 2D drafting and 3D modelling to produce buildable drawings.
• Strong understanding of scale, sightlines, rigging points, truss and venue restrictions.
• Several years drafting for live events, theatre or stage builds.
• Able to turn a half-formed brief into a drawing.

Responsibilities

• Own the drawing set for events and exhibition builds, from concept through to the version the crew works to.
• Model in 3D and produce visuals that let a client see the room before anyone loads a truck.
• Run venue surveys and turn them into accurate drawings, including sightlines, access routes and rigging positions.
• Work with the rigging team on load calculations and structural documentation for venue and safety sign off.
• Set and keep the drawing standard, templates and symbol library, and bring the CAD Technician on.
