• Strong understanding of level flow, metrics, and pacing.
• Proven experience with Unreal Engine 5 and Blueprinting.

Climax Studios - Lead Level Designer

Climax Studios, established nearly 30 years ago, has a rich history in developing diverse digital experiences across all formats and has won multiple awards. Our new state-of-the-art studio is located in the heart of the Albert Dock in Liverpool city centre.

We are seeking an experienced Lead Level Designer with proven leadership skills and experience working on console titles to join our award-winning team. This role involves supporting the Lead Designer in leading the Level Design team and creating major immersive environments for a AAA game project with a 1st party publisher.

Requirements

• Experience as a Lead Level Designer on at least two published console titles.
• Ability to lead, inspire, motivate, and provide constructive feedback to a creative team.
• Experience in planning and scheduling workflows.
• Strong understanding of level flow, metrics, and pacing.
• Good visual eye for scene setting, sight lines, vistas, and areas of interest.
• Proven experience with Unreal Engine 5 and Blueprinting.
• Experience in greyboxing levels to a professional standard.
• Ability to script gameplay content such as events, interactions, and encounters.
• Experience with enemy placement and spawn points.
• Excellent communication skills for collaboration within a multidisciplinary team.
• Level design experience for third-person action games is a plus.
• Passion and motivation to create great games.
