Job summary

Harris Primary Academy Benson is seeking a Higher Level Teaching Assistant to support learning activities and assist teaching staff. The role focuses on raising standards, contributing to assessment, and supporting pupils with diverse needs. A strong background in supporting literacy and numeracy is preferred.

Qualifications

• GCSE English and Maths at Grade C/4 or above.
• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
• Good knowledge of a range of learning barriers, including special needs.
• Experience of contributing to and assessing provision for children with a range of needs.
• Understanding of social issues facing students from disadvantaged backgrounds.

Responsibilities

• Complement the professional work of teachers by planning, preparing, and delivering learning activities.
• Support the management and development of teaching within the academy and supervise other teaching assistants.
• Lead on addressing learning barriers to raise standards.
• Support the welfare and inclusion of children in all aspects of academy life.
• Assist teachers to monitor progress and report on achievement.
