Job summary

wagamama is hiring a sous chef to lead shifts and support the kitchen team in York. You’ll cook fresh dishes, mentor staff, and ensure every bowl is prepared to order with energy and pride.

You'll work closely with the management team to run a high-performing kitchen, develop your team, manage food safety, cost and performance, and celebrate success with the crew while enjoying a generous benefits package.

Qualifications

• Experience in leading a kitchen team and managing shifts.
• Understanding of food safety standards and cost control.
• Ability to train and develop kitchen staff while maintaining high standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead the kitchen shifts and support the kitchen team.
• Ensure dishes are fresh, bold and cooked to order.
• Coach and develop team members for growth and engagement.
• Monitor food safety, stock, and labour costs.
