Job summary

London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG) CDSClear Risk Technology is seeking a Lead Java Engineer to join the risk platform team. You will own delivery of core risk components, align with regulatory controls, and shape the end-to-end execution of quantitative margin models.

This hands-on role requires strong Java 11+ experience, Spring Boot, and the ability to influence architecture while collaborating with infrastructure, security and DevOps.

Qualifications

• Strong server-side Java engineering experience (Java 11+; Java 17+ preferred).
• Experience with risk/analytic platforms and production systems.
• Ability to translate analytic requirements into production-grade code.
• Comfort working in a regulated environment with disciplined SDLC.

Responsibilities

• Act as a Lead Java Engineer within the CDSClear Risk Development team.
• Design and evolve core risk-engine components supporting intraday and overnight margin calculations.
• Contribute to the implementation of quantitative risk models by translating analytic requirements into production‑grade system behaviour.
• Provide technical leadership across Risk calculation orchestration.
• Integrate market data, trade data, reference data and model parameters.
• Performance, scalability, determinism and failure handling.
• Own delivery of business requirements through development, testing and controlled production release.
• Drive evolution of the risk platform, combining incremental improvements with architectural changes.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, security and DevOps teams to deliver end‑to‑end solutions.
• Participate in third‑line system support, including on‑call rota.
