Job summary

Testing Site - JPMC in London seeks a Lead Software Engineer in Wholesale Payments, FX Payments Tech to design and deliver secure, scalable payment tech products. You’ll lead cross-functional engineering efforts, drive architectural decisions, and mentor teams to adopt best practices in cloud native platforms.

Qualifications include a degree in CS, strong design and development skills, experience with CI/CD, security, and agile methods; familiarity with Java 21, Spring, Kafka, and microservices

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science.
• Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
• Advanced proficiency in one or more programming languages.
• Proficiency in automation and continuous delivery methods.
• Skilled in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle.
• Advanced understanding of agile methodologies, including CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security.
• Demonstrated proficiency in software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (cloud/AI/mobile).
• In-depth knowledge of the financial services IT landscape and IT systems.
• Practical cloud native experience.

Responsibilities

• Execute creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting.
• Develop secure, high-quality production code and review and debug code written by others.
• Identify opportunities to automate remediation of recurring issues and improve operational stability.
• Lead evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to assess architectural designs and technical credentials.
• Drive outcomes-oriented probing for applicability within existing systems and information architecture.
• Lead communities of practice across Software Engineering to promote awareness and adoption of new technologies.
• Contribute to team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect.
