NPAworldwide is seeking a hands-on Senior Software Engineer or Technical Lead to guide a live Central Government project. You will lead a collaborative Agile team, design and develop bespoke software, and drive technical direction with clients.

The role emphasizes full-stack work with Java, JavaScript, React and TypeScript, plus AWS-based cloud deployments. You will also shape architectures, build CI/CD pipelines with GitLab, and ensure high standards of quality, security, and engineering

Are you an experienced Senior Software Engineer or Technical Lead who enjoys remaining hands-on while guiding teams and shaping technical solutions?

A leading specialist technical consultancy is looking for a Software Technical Lead to join a live Central Government project. You will work within a collaborative Agile team, building bespoke software that solves complex operational challenges.

What youll be doing

• Leading and supporting a team of software engineers
• Designing, developing and testing bespoke software solutions
• Providing technical direction and communicating clearly with clients
• Producing solution architectures and technical designs
• Building full-stack applications using Java, JavaScript, React and TypeScript
• Designing and deploying cloud-based solutions, primarily using AWS
• Creating continuous integration pipelines using tools such as GitLab
• Working across the full software development lifecycle, from requirements and architecture through to delivery, support and maintenance
• Deploying software into public and private cloud environments
• Promoting high standards of software quality, security and engineering practice

What were looking for

You will be a hands-on Senior Engineer or Technical Lead with:

• Strong commercial Java development experience
• Good experience designing and building solutions in AWS

Due to the sensitive nature of the projects, the successful candidate must be able to obtain high‑level UK security clearance.
