Job summary

Head Resourcing is seeking a Senior/Lead Java Developer for a large-scale engagement in Wealth and Asset Management. This hands-on role requires ownership, independent delivery, and leadership in technical initiatives.

You will be office-based in London or Glasgow with hybrid working (2 days onsite) and an initial 3-month contract, with a view to extension based on performance. Strong Java/Spring, API, AWS, Docker experience is essential.

Qualifications

• 7+ years' experience in Java development.
• Strong expertise with Java, Spring and Spring Boot.
• Proven experience building and integrating APIs.
• Strong database development and integration experience.
• Experience working with AWS and cloud-based environments.
• Knowledge of Docker and containerisation technologies.
• Comfortable operating as a senior or lead-level developer in a hands-on capacity.

• Lead development efforts on critical technology initiatives in Wealth and Asset Management.
• Take ownership and deliver solutions with minimal supervision.
• Provide production support and occasional out-of-hours/ weekend releases.

Location: Glasgow or London (2 Days Onsite)

Length: Initial 3-Month Contract

We're currently supporting a leading consultancy partner on a large-scale engagement within the Wealth and Asset Management sector. They are looking for a Senior/Lead Java Developer to join the team and play a key role in delivering critical technology initiatives. This opportunity would suit an experienced, hands-on developer who is comfortable taking ownership, working independently, and contributing at a lead level while remaining actively involved in development.

Key Requirements

• 7+ years' experience in Java development
• Strong expertise with Java, Spring and Spring Boot
• Proven experience building and integrating APIs
• Strong database development and integration experience
• Experience working with AWS and cloud-based environments
• Knowledge of Docker and containerisation technologies
• Comfortable operating as a senior or lead-level developer in a hands-on capacity
• Ability to work from the London office two days per week
• Willingness to provide production support, including occasional out-of-hours and weekend release support
