Job summary

Spencer Rose Ltd in Edinburgh is seeking an experienced Lead Java Developer to lead a transformation programme for a Tier1 banking client. You will work on modern cloud-native applications and microservices, with a hybrid in-office requirement of two days per week.

Qualifications

• Strong Java (8/11/17+) development experience with enterprise applications.
• Spring Boot, REST APIs, JPA/Hibernate and microservices architecture.
• React.js, JavaScript & TypeScript with modern Front End development practices.
• Docker & Kubernetes and CI/CD using Jenkins, Git/GitHub.
• Strong automated testing experience with JUnit, Mockito, Jest, React Testing Library and Playwright.
• Experience with SQL/NoSQL databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL and MongoDB.
• Performance tuning, profiling and application optimisation.
• Security principles including JWT, OWASP and Zero Trust.
• Experience with Kafka/event-driven architecture and cloud-native development.
• Strong code review, pair programming and TDD/shift-left mindset.

Spencer Rose is urgently seeking a Lead Java Developer to work on an exciting transformation programme for our Tier1 banking client working on modern, cloud-native applications and microservices. Based in Edinburgh.

Start: ASAP
Duration: 6-12 months (with possible extensions)
Rate: £#removed#pd all inclusive
Location: Edinburgh - hybrid - 2 days a week in the office

Key skills:
