Lead IPT Manufacturing Engineer at Safran in Cwmbran NP HQ, United Kingdom. Requires recent GCSE education. Open to manufacturing field job seekers.

Job Responsibilities:
Overview

Safran Seats specializes in First Class and Business Class aircraft seating, with teams in Cwmbran, Newport, and Brackley. As IPT Lead Manufacturing Engineer, you will lead a team of engineers and technicians, ensuring product designs meet manufacturing and assembly standards. Key duties include:

  1. Supporting design reviews, communicating issues, and resolving them.
  2. Driving design for assembly/manufacture improvements.
  3. Leading lessons learned sessions.
  4. Collaborating on development build requirements and improvements.
  5. Conducting make vs buy analyses and proposing strategies.
  6. Developing production strategies and estimating CAPEX.
  7. Eliminating waste through lean methodologies.
  8. Managing APQP & PPAP documentation and PFMEA processes.
  9. Ensuring validation and verification align with system engineering.
  10. Identifying and budgeting for tools and equipment.
  11. Planning and achieving industrialization deliverables.
  12. Resolving industrialization and production issues before BOM release.
  13. Performing root cause analyses and approving engineering drawings.
  14. Managing timing plans and resource requirements.
Job Requirements:

Minimum of 10 years in aerospace or automotive manufacturing, with proven leadership. Qualifications include B.Eng. in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Aerospace Engineering, or HND via apprenticeship. Skills in design for manufacture, manufacturing processes, Lean Six Sigma, APQP & PPAP, PFMEA, 3D CAD (CATIA), and interpreting 2D drawings are essential. Candidates with different but relevant experiences are encouraged to apply.
