Job summary

Aave Labs is seeking a Principal iOS Engineer to lead the iOS team and shape the architecture of the Aave App. You will balance hands-on development with team leadership to deliver a secure, intuitive consumer savings experience built on blockchain.

You will own the technical direction for iOS, set architecture standards, and collaborate with design, product, backend, protocol, and security teams to turn product goals into a clear roadmap.

Qualifications

• 8+ years building production iOS applications (Principal/Lead level).
• Deep Swift and UIKit expertise, with strong iOS architecture knowledge.
• Hands-on experience integrating blockchain functionality into mobile apps.
• Experience leading engineers, setting architectural direction and ownership.

Responsibilities

• Own and evolve the iOS architecture for Aave App, guiding security and maintainability.
• Design and ship core blockchain functionality: wallet creation, signing, RPC interaction, onchain reads.
• Lead integration of onchain/offchain data across savings, funding, withdrawal, and analytics experiences.
• Set architecture standards for Swift/ UIKit, testing, observability, performance, and release safety.
• Remain hands-on for foundational architecture and security-sensitive components; address production issues.
• Partner with design to deliver precise UI and cohesive mobile design system; mentor engineers and contribute to hiring.
