Job summary

Platform Recruitment is seeking a Photonics Technical Lead in the UK to drive the integrated photonics capability. You will own the photonics roadmap across PICs, laser systems and subsystems, coordinating with UK, US and Australian teams to align with strategy and customer needs.

You will lead design, simulation, testing and packaging of silicon photonics PICs, mentor engineers, build external partnerships and support proposals and funded programs, while promoting safety and quality in lab

Qualifications

PhD in Photonics, Optoelectronics or related field.
Deep expertise in integrated photonics and PIC-based devices.
Experience leading photonics projects and teams.
Experience with foundries and packaging partners.
Proven track record from concept to product transition.

Responsibilities

Lead UK integrated photonics capability and be the main technical contact for photonics activity.
Develop and maintain roadmaps for PICs and laser systems.
Oversee technical performance across photonics projects.
Mentor technical staff and build external partnerships.
Work with global teams in the UK/US/Australia.
Support proposals and externally funded programmes.
