Job summary

Petrofac seeks a Lead Instrument Technician offshore on the EnQuest Kittiwake, rotating 3/4/3/5. You will supervise Instrument maintenance, ensure life-support systems function reliably, and coordinate with onshore/offshore teams to deliver safe, compliant operations.

You will manage documentation, verify testing, and mentor technicians while ensuring adherence to Petrofac standards and safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Recognised Instrumentation Apprenticeship or Training Scheme.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in maintenance support activities, preferably with multi-skilling.
• OND / ONC / City and Guilds / NVQ Level 3 – Instrumentation.
• NVQ Level 3 Management preferable but not essential.
• ISSOW (Proscient Or similar system) training to level 2.
• SBT assembly and re-instatement to stage 3/4
• Compex Certification.
• Systems literate - Maximo, spreadsheets, etc.
• Good communication skills (written and verbal).

Responsibilities

• Manage daily work plans and performance of Instrument maintenance technicians.
• Ensure instrumentation life support and safety systems are maintained and available.
• Safeguard availability and condition of instrumentation equipment.
• Act as Platform Software Custodian ensuring software changes follow Petrofac standards.
• Lead and own 28-Day / 7-day planning & maintenance activities within discipline.
• Coordinate PM alignment with other Leads to minimize outages.
• Attend onshore meetings and address issues with teams.
• Ensure documentation, logs and handovers are accurate.
• Monitor material movements and manage the materials tracker.
• Organise verification testing and ensure resource availability.
• Act as ICP focal point for MS and instrument area for projects.
• Review proposed modifications / work packs prior to implementation.
• Support contractors and vendors to meet regulations and standards.
• Assist with appraisals and objective setting for Instrument staff.
• Lead training and competence assessment for new personnel.
