Job summary

Thales in Cheadle, United Kingdom is seeking a Principle Inspector to ensure the quality, safety and reliability of defence and security components. You will perform inspections, log faults and verify conformance to requirements, working on-site four days a week with overtime paid on Fridays if required.

Applicants should have experience in electrical/electro-mechanical inspection, IPC610/IPC620, and the ability to read diagrams and drawings.

Qualifications

Experience inspecting electrical or electro-mechanical parts in defence/aerospace settings.
Qualified to IPC610 & IPC620 standards (all modules).
Ability to inspect soldering, crimping, wire wrapping, splicing, sleeving, part making.
Ability to interpret circuits, engineering drawings and technical documents.
Knowledge of ESD protection requirements.
Experience using micrometers, verniers, slips and gauges.

Responsibilities

Perform inspection operations for acceptance of parts, sub-assemblies and products to required standards.
Identify and log faults and record results.
Inspect build packs, test results and job compliance records.
Raise Product Non-Conformance Reports or Production Permits.
Ensure inspection equipment is maintained and calibrated to standard.
Update procedures and provide support to engineering.
Oversee rework activities.
Supplier off-site acceptance UK & overseas.
