JPMorganChase, in partnership with hackajob, seeks a Lead Infrastructure Engineer for Cloud Foundational Services. You will shape enterprise-scale infrastructure across AWS, Azure, and private clouds, and drive modernization while supporting a global, distributed team.

Qualifications

  • Formal training or certification on infrastructure engineering concepts.
  • Deep knowledge across infrastructure areas including hardware, networking, databases, storage, deployment, automation, scaling, resilience, or performance assessments.
  • Hands-on AWS experience with core services in production (compute, storage, networking, monitoring, database tech).
  • Cloud infrastructure knowledge across public/private clouds with cross-cloud migration capability.
  • Scripting skills (Python) and cloud platform certifications.
  • Experience using AI-assisted software development tools with validation of outputs.
  • Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity and secure handling.
  • Familiarity with large distributed systems across compute, databases, messaging, observability.
  • Knowledge of incident, change, and problem management processes.
  • Data-driven decision making and ongoing learning.
  • Preferred: Kubernetes, Azure, Google Cloud Platform, or Terraform certifications.
  • Preferred: experience in follow-the-sun/on-call model.
  • Preferred: familiarity with large-scale cloud migration or modernization initiatives.
  • Preferred: exposure to observability and telemetry tooling in complex distributed environments.

Responsibilities

  • Apply technical expertise to projects of moderate scope.
  • Drive a workstream or project spanning infrastructure technologies.
  • Collaborate with other platforms to architect and implement changes for modernization.
  • Execute creative solutions for design, development, and troubleshooting of moderate complexity.
  • Consider upstream/downstream data implications and advise mitigations.
  • Leverage AI coding assist tools to improve code quality and delivery speed, with peer review.
  • Apply SDLC tools including AI-assisted development to enhance automation value.
  • Manage stakeholder relationships and ensure compliance with standards.
  • Partner with engineering and product teams to close issues and drive product improvements.
  • Demonstrate learning and teaching aptitude as features are released.
  • Provide follow-the-sun 24/7 on-call support across time zones.

Job description

Salary: £100,000 - 100,000 per year

Requirements:
  • Formal training or certification on infrastructure engineering concepts and advanced applied experience
  • Deep knowledge of one or more areas of infrastructure engineering such as hardware, networking terminology, databases, storage engineering, deployment practices, integration, automation, scaling, resilience, or performance assessments
  • Strong experience supporting and operating workloads within Amazon Web Services (AWS), including hands-on knowledge of core services such as compute, storage, networking, monitoring, and database technologies (e.g., RDS, DynamoDB, or Aurora) in a production environment
  • Deep knowledge of cloud infrastructure and multiple cloud technologies with the ability to operate in and migrate across public and private clouds
  • Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Python) and cloud platform certification(s)
  • Hands-on experience using enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools within the work environment (e.g., for coding, testing, troubleshooting, or documentation) with demonstrated ability to critically evaluate and validate AI-generated outputs
  • Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity considerations, secure handling of inputs/outputs, and adherence to resiliency and security expectations
  • Familiarity with working in a large distributed system across a range of technologies including compute, databases, messaging, observability, and telemetry
  • Knowledge of incident, change, and problem management processes and the controls that govern them
  • Understanding of data-driven decision making and a drive to continue developing technical and cross-functional knowledge
  • Preferred: Kubernetes, Azure, Google Cloud Platform, or Terraform certifications
  • Preferred: Experience working in a follow-the-sun or globally distributed on-call support model
  • Preferred: Familiarity with large-scale cloud migration or modernization initiatives

Responsibilities:
  • Apply technical expertise and problem-solving methodologies to projects of moderate scope
  • Drive a workstream or project consisting of one or more infrastructure engineering technologies
  • Work with other platforms to architect and implement changes required to resolve issues and modernize our organization and technology processes
  • Execute creative solutions for the design, development, and technical troubleshooting for problems of moderate complexity
  • Strongly consider upstream/downstream data and systems or technical implications and advise on mitigation actions
  • Leverage enterprise-authorized AI coding assist tools within the work environment to improve code quality, delivery speed, and productivity, while validating outputs through peer review, automated testing, and secure coding standards
  • Apply knowledge of tools within the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain, including enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to improve the value realized by automation
  • Manage stakeholder relationships and the teams work in accordance with compliance standards, service level agreements, and product supportability requirements
  • Partner with engineering and product teams to ensure remediation and permanent closure of issues and to identify trending issues to drive product improvement
  • Demonstrate a high aptitude for both learning and teaching as product teams continually release new features and products
  • Provide follow-the-sun 24/7 on-call support through a distributed team spanning multiple time zones
