  2. Design substantiation ownership: Develop, assess, and manage the Nuclear Infrastructure Design Substantiation suite.
  3. Control design integrity: Manage design changes and concessions, ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards.
  4. Support through-life safety case: Produce schedules and operating procedures for Examination, Inspection, Maintenance & Testing (EIMT) to ensure safety and design intent.
  5. Engage with nuclear safety governance: Present substantiations to safety committees and support safety case submissions.
  6. Technical oversight and assurance: Review contractor reports, conduct Independent Technical Assessments (ITA), and Peer Reviews (IPR).
  7. Contribute to Periodic Safety Reviews: Develop reports supporting continued safe operation and regulatory compliance.
Qualifications:
Essential Criteria:
  • Strong knowledge of British and European design standards and current engineering practices.
  • Solid understanding of High Voltage (HV) and Low Voltage (LV) electrical systems.
  • Proven experience across concept, detailed design, and construction phases in electrical engineering, preferably in industrial or maritime environments.
  • Skilled in assessing electrical plant and equipment for hazard resilience.
  • Ability to author robust technical justifications for electrical design modifications in high-hazard industries.
  • Familiarity with industrial systems such as pumps, generators, HVAC, SCADA, PAVA systems, etc.
