Job summary

Education Authority (Northern Ireland) is seeking a proactive Head of Department ICT - Post-Primary to lead the ICT department, drive curriculum development, and ensure excellent teaching and learning across Key Stage 3-5. You will collaborate with other departments, manage resources, and support staff performance and development.

Qualifications

• Hold a teaching qualification which meets the requirements for recognition to teach in grant-aided schools in Northern Ireland.
• Minimum of three years’ demonstrable experience of teaching ICT at Key Stage 3 + 4 to achieve positive learning outcomes.
• Be registered with the General Teaching Council for Northern Ireland (GTCNI) before taking up post.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the ICT department, liaise with other departments as appropriate.
• Ensure high quality teaching and learning within the department, monitor homework and outcomes.
• Lead curriculum initiatives and develop a departmental policy and development plan.
• Hold regular department meetings and provide minutes to the Principal and Line Manager.
• Manage the ICT budget and professional development of ICT staff and technicians.
• Promote activities and clubs to foster pupil interest in ICT.
