Job summary

Deploy Recruitment Group seeks an experienced Protection and Control Design Engineer to lead HV substation projects in the UK. You will develop protection, control and SCADA designs for 11–132 kV networks, mentor junior engineers and collaborate with project managers and clients.

This hybrid/remote role offers flexibility while staying connected to project teams. Degree in Electrical Engineering is required; UK protection design experience (11kV–132kV) is essential; proficiency with IEC 61850,

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.

Responsibilities

• Develop protection application designs for feeders, transformers and busbars at 11 kV–132 kV.
• Configure relays, create setting files, IEC 61850 and DNP3 schemes, and document logic.
• Specify CTs/VTs, panels and wiring per NPg standards.
• Provide technical review of designs from ICPs and external teams.
• Conduct protection coordination studies and prepare drawings.
• Ensure designs comply with Northern Powergrid standards and regulations.
• Liaise with internal teams and clients to deliver on time.
• Provide site support during testing and commissioning.
