Job summary

BakerHicks is seeking a Senior/Principal Electrical Engineer for HV distribution up to 33kV to join our Transmission & Distribution team in the UK. You will lead the design and delivery of HV projects, produce technical designs, and engage with clients across major infrastructure programs.

Your role includes mentoring junior engineers, performing load flow, fault level and protection studies, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• HV distribution design experience up to 33kV is required.
• Chartered Engineer status is beneficial but not essential.
• Strong report writing and drawing production skills.
• Familiar with client specifications (MOD, SSEN, UKPN).

Responsibilities

• Lead design and delivery of HV distribution projects up to 33kV.
• Produce designs, calculations, reports and specifications.
• Carry out load flow, fault level and protection studies.
• Mentor junior engineers and support team development.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across major infrastructure projects.
• Support bids, proposals and client engagement activities.
