Job summary

Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust is seeking a Band 6 midwife to join the Birth Centre team at Stoke Mandeville Hospital. You will attend homebirths as the lead midwife and support women choosing the alongside birth centre, delivering autonomous, evidence-based care throughout pregnancy, birth and postnatal care.

You will mentor junior staff, promote personalised care, and contribute to reducing health inequalities within our diverse population.

Qualifications

• Registered Midwife with NMC registration.
• Experience as a preceptor Midwife and mentor.
• Ability to work autonomously and manage own time.

Responsibilities

• Attend homebirths as lead midwife and support women in the alongside birth centre.
• Promote informed choice for home and birth-centre options.
• Conduct holistic risk assessments and ensure personalised, evidence-based care.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to enable coordinated care and reduce health inequalities.
