Job summary

Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust is seeking a Band 6 midwife to join the Birth Centre team at Stoke Mandeville Hospital. You will attend homebirths as the lead midwife and support women choosing the alongside birth centre, delivering autonomous, evidence-based care throughout pregnancy, birth and postnatal care.

You will mentor junior staff, promote personalised care, and contribute to reducing health inequalities within our diverse population.

Main duties of the job

This is a birth centre-based midwife post with a requirement to attend
homebirths as the lead midwife with an aim to provide safe, evidenced
based and personalised care to women and birthing people throughout their
pregnancy, birth and postnatal journey

• To promote and facilitate choice to those wishing to birth at home and also
  support women who choose to birth in the alongside birth centre
• To continually undertake holistic risk assessments to support the delivery of
  appropriate care
• To work in partnership with the wider multidisciplinary team, enabling
  coordinated care and where necessary appropriate referrals
• To actively contribute to the reduction in health inequalities by supporting a
  service that is accessible to all
