Job summary

NY Highways in Boroughbridge is recruiting a Highways Skilled Operative Lead for a 2-person crew to deliver highways maintenance across North Yorkshire. You will lead a small team on varied tasks and ensure high safety and quality standards.

Key duties include kerbing, drainage, patching and ironwork renewal, street furniture installation, site maintenance, and traffic management. A driving licence and access to personal transport are desirable to respond to emergencies and winter works.

Qualifications

• Level 2 highway maintenance qualification or equivalent experience.
• Banksman, Manual Handling, Abrasive Wheels, Emergency First Aid, Safe Dig training are desirable or required.
• The role involves leading a two-person crew on highways maintenance tasks.

Responsibilities

• Lead small two-person crews delivering highways maintenance activities.
• Oversee kerbing, drainage installation, patching and ironwork renewal.
• Maintain street furniture and manage general site work.
• Perform traffic management and routine cyclical works.
• Support winter maintenance and out-of-hours call-outs if needed.
