Job summary

Plessey Photonics Systems is seeking an experienced Optical Interconnect Architect to lead the design of next-generation optical interconnect solutions. You will bridge electrical and optical domains, guiding SerDes-based links, photonic integration, and packaging strategies to deliver high-bandwidth, energy-efficient interconnects.

The role spans ASIC/SoC architecture, SerDes, optical engines, packaging, signal integrity, and system-level interconnects, collaborating with cross-functional teams

Qualifications

• 10+ years in high-speed semiconductor, networking, or optical tech development.
• Deep experience with SerDes and high-speed I/O.
• Strong understanding of ASIC/SoC architecture and electrical interfaces.
• Solid knowledge of optical communication systems and interconnects.

Responsibilities

• Define system and link architectures for next-generation optical interconnects.
• Develop electrical/optical interface architecture between ASICs, SerDes, optical engines, and photonic devices.
• Lead architecture of high-speed SerDes-based optical links.
• Evaluate architectures for co-packaged optics (CPO), silicon photonics, and optical I/O.
