Job summary

The Junction invites applications for a Lead Group Worker role within the Short Breaks Team in Middlesbrough. The successful candidate will plan, facilitate and run group sessions, ensuring a safe, engaging and positive experience for children and young people with additional needs.

Responsibilities include supporting staff, coordinating activities twice weekly and upholding safeguarding practices. DBS disclosure will be sought, with a fixed-term contract to 31 March 2028.

Qualifications

• Experience in planning and running group sessions for children and young people.
• Ability to support and supervise staff during sessions.
• Commitment to safeguarding and inclusive practice.

Hours: 16 hrshours per week

Contract Type:Fixed term until 31st March 2028

We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Group Lead to join and enhance our well-established Short Breaks Team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the planning, facilitation and smooth running of group sessions, while providing guidance and support to staff to ensure children and young people receive a safe, engaging and positive experience.

Our Short Breaks Service provides two group sessions each week for children and young people with additional needs, offering opportunities for fun, social interaction, learning and building confidence. This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of a successful and supportive team, contribute your skills and experience, and make a meaningful difference to the lives of children, young people and their families.
