Job summary

Matchtech is seeking an experienced Lead Groundworker to head a small civils team delivering drainage and wastewater works across the South of England. You will supervise day-to-day site operations, perform excavations and manhole repairs, and ensure safety and quality on site.

This hands-on leadership role requires strong team coordination, compliance with health and safety, and effective management of plant, materials and equipment to meet project objectives.

Qualifications

• Groundworks/utilities/civils experience required.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Full UK Driving Licence and NRSWA (Streetworks)

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day site operations and supervise a small civils team.
• Carry out excavations, manhole repairs and installations.
• Ensure work is completed safely, efficiently and to high standards.

You’ll oversee day-to-day site operations, carrying out excavations, manhole repairs and installations while ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard. This is a hands-on role involving team supervision, site coordination, risk assessments, and management of plant, materials, and equipment.

Requirements:

• Groundworks, utilities, or civils experience
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Good understanding of Health & Safety and safe site practices
• Experience using plant, tools, and machinery
• Full UK Driving Licence
• NRSWA (Streetworks)
