Job summary

Sanctuary Group is seeking a Grounds Maintenance Team Leader to lead a team of operatives across Sussex, based in Lancing. You will deliver high-quality grounds maintenance in line with contract specifications and best practice, ensuring progress is tracked and safety is paramount.

The role requires supervisory experience, PA1/PA6 pesticide certificates, and a valid UK driving licence. Sanctuary offers a competitive package with generous leave, pension, Life Assurance and wellbeing support.

Qualifications

Experience in grounds maintenance, landscaping or horticulture.
Experience supervising or leading others.
PA1/PA6 certificates for pesticide application.
Experience using grounds maintenance machinery and equipment.
Good communication and problem-solving skills.
Basic IT skills and updating digital scheduling systems.
GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent).
Full UK driving licence to drive company vehicle.

Responsibilities

Lead and support grounds maintenance operatives to deliver high-quality work.
Ensure work is completed in line with contract specifications and horticultural best practice.
Monitor progress and maintain accurate work records.
Respond to service issues and help resolve customer concerns professionally.
Maintain tools, machinery and equipment for safe, effective operation.
Promote a strong health and safety culture within the team.
Carry out specialist tasks, including pesticide application, in line with legislation and best practice.
